For those as yet unaware, former race directors and sponsors of the Ultrarunner.net Series, Robert and Linda Mathis, were tragically killed on December 30th, 2011, when they were struck by an impaired driver while crossing at a crosswalk in Incline Village, Nevada.
Elemental Running and Training has assumed the series of events and the Ultrarunner.net platform. Given the untimeliness and intricacies of the transition, the status of permits, and other considerations, the Ultrarunner.net Series competition will be held in abeyance for 2012. It will return for 2013, to be announced this coming fall. The races themselves will be held, and all information can be found at www.elementalrunning.com/races/.
We are working hard to secure the full series of events for 2013, including sponsorships, prize purses, and other resources, so that we may return the Series and competition to its former heights and make it truly representative of the quality and challenge of events our runners have come to expect. The Ultrarunner.net site will continue to be developed as a comprehensive resource for ultrarunners.
