COURSE

USATF Certificate CA13033RS

Due to changes in Sacramento County’s special event permitting policies, the River City Marathon course has changed; it will now be run on the bike paths surrounding beautiful Lake Natoma in scenic and historic Folsom, California.

The course begins in Folsom, in the parking lot to the northwest of the intersection of Leidesdorff and Reading Streets, where the bike trail begins on the west side of Folsom Boulevard, to the west of the Lake Natoma Inn on Gold Lake Drive. The out-and-back course first travels south on the trail through Willow Creek to Nimbus Overlook, turning North and proceeding through Negro Bar. The Marathon turnaround is at Folsom Lake Crossing and Folsom-Auburn Road; the Half Marathon turnaround is at the intersection of the trail and Main Avenue.  The new additions of the 50K, 10K, and 5K will also be out-and-back courses along this shared route.

The course is a paved bike trail and will be certified by the USATF as a Boston Qualifier.
